Mary Ann Timchuk, born on May 16, 1953, in Red Deer, Alberta, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the night of April 8, 2026, in Calgary, Alberta. Her departure marks the end of a life defined by dedication, love, and a profound commitment to both family and community.
Mary Ann had a distinguished career marked by her unwavering professionalism and attention to detail. Throughout her working years, she contributed her talents to several successful companies, earning numerous commendations and awards in recognition of her outstanding work. Among her most cherished roles was her time at Rocky Mountain Pools and Spas, where she found immense joy immersing herself in the work alongside colleagues whom she deeply respected and admired.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Mary Ann was renowned for her warm, generous spirit and her abiding love for animals. She was an avid animal lover, one who, given the chance, would have opened her home to every dog and cat from local shelters. Her dream was to tend to a large farm filled with animals, reflecting her nurturing nature and boundless compassion. Known to some as stubborn, she balanced this with a heart of gold and an unconditional love for her only son, a devotion that shaped much of her life.
Mary Ann’s passions extended into the realm of art, a talent not widely known but deeply intrinsic to her identity. She was a gifted artist whose creativity enriched her soul and those fortunate enough to witness her work. In her leisure time, she delighted in the outdoors—camping, gardening, and gathering with family during holidays or vacations formed the threads of her happiest moments.

She cherished the simple yet profound joys of spending time with her son, Michael Tumbach, and being surrounded by loved ones. Her love for her dogs and peaceful outdoor pursuits brought her solace and joy throughout her years.
Mary Ann is survived by her son, Michael Tumbach; her sisters, Wendy Genee and Lucy Byron; and her brother, Ed Glawdel. She also leaves behind cherished memories of her parents, Jozef and Anna Glawdel, who preceded her in death.
Her loss is deeply felt by all who knew her. Mary Ann was an incredible mother, a devoted sister, a treasured friend, and a woman whose life touched many. She put her family above all else and left a legacy of love, kindness, and artistic spirit. Her presence will be sorely missed, but the imprint she made on the hearts of those around her will endure.
